Ever since she broke free of her Disney channel cocoon, Miley Cyrus has become quite the edgy butterfly; complete with a colourful array of tattoos.
Her first tattoo, lettering beneath her heart which reads ‘Just Breathe’, was completed when she was just 17 years old; intended as a touching tribute to her late friend and grandfather.
Since then, Miley appears to have gotten a real taste for ink; with her skin bearing everything from dreamcatchers to sheepdogs, Vegemite jars to a smiley (Miley?) face.
The 26-year-old Nothing Breaks Like A Heart singer even has an incredibly realistic tat of an avocado on her arm, symbolising her apparent esteem for the much grumbled about millennial snack.
Much like Miley herself, her vibrant skin art is a gallery of quirkiness and fun; with plenty of nods to her close family ties – she literally has a full blown portrait of her beloved ‘mammie’.
And a new inky addition shows her much discussed mischievous side in full swing, with the sort of no-hecks given attitude best encapsulated by the now iconic image of her swinging around in the buff for her Wrecking Ball video.
It appears the singer has gotten herself an ankle tattoo bearing a single, saucy word: ‘Pussy’.
Now, the motivation behind the tattoo has not been stated, but it’s fair to attribute this to being just the latest loop on the Miley Cyrus rollercoaster. Or maybe she just really likes cats…?
Of course, Miley is known to be an outspoken campaigner for women’s rights, so it could well be the case that she is reclaiming the word as something powerful and under no circumstances to be grabbed without permission.
